Q. What nights of the week does the show run?
A.Show runs from Tuesday through to Saturday. We only close on Sundays and Mondays, and Christmas Day.
Q. How can I book tickets?
A. Tickets can be booked right here on our website, click here. Alternatively, you may prefer to book via the phone. That can be done by phoning our friendly staff on (07) 4042 5673. You can also pop into our Box Office, which is located within the lobby of the Shangri-La Hotel, across from the elevators.
Q. What forms of payment are accepted?
A. Online or over the phone, credit cards are accepted. In our Box Office, you can pay by cash, cheque, credit card, or EFTPOS.
Q. Is my payment refundable?
A. Strictly speaking, payments are not refundable. However, as our star Jose Paronella knows, life rarely goes to plan, so please phone our friendly staff and they will endeavour to fit you in on another night.
Q. How should I dress for the event?
A. The Impossible Dream team likes all their guests to be comfortable and enjoy themselves. Please wear the clothing that you enjoy wearing, however a lot of our guests prefer to get dressed up for a night of dinner theatre!
Q. Where exactly is The Impossible Dream located?
A. We are located within the Shangri-La hotel, The Marina, Cairns. When you arrive at the Shangri-La, please take the elevator directly to Level Two, where the staff will tick off your name and show you where to go next.
Q. Where can I park?
A. There is ample parking located underneath the Shangri-La, and out the front of the Pier complex. You may also choose to utilise the local taxi service, who are contactable on 131 008.
Q. What time does the show start?
A. We request that all guests arrive by 6:30pm. If you are running late, we are able to admit people up until 7:00pm at the latest.
Q. What time does the show end?
A. The experience will finish at approximately 10:15pm.
Q. Are drinks included in the price?
A. Drinks are included. A welcome glass of sparkling white followed by your choice of house wines, local beer and soft drinks.
Q. Can I bring my own wine?
A. As drinks are included, there is no need to bring your own.
Q. What sort of food will I eat?
A. The Impossible Dream Experience is proud of the menu of 5 star, gourmet local produce. The menu is displayed here on our website, and consists of a share style antipasto plate with breads and grissini, alternate drop for the main meals, and dessert.
Q. What if I am a Vegetarian/Coeliac?
A. We are absolutely happy and able to cater for your dietary requirements. Please ensure that you specify at the time of booking, so that our clever chefs have time to whip up something to suit your needs!
Q. Are you wheelchair friendly?
A. Absolutely! There are elevators and ramps at the Shangri-La. However, please notify us at the time of booking so that we can ensure there is a space for your chair at the table.
Q. Can I take photographs at The Impossible Dream?
A. Absolutely! However, to protect the integrity of the performance, we request that you do not take photographs during the show. We provide a tailor-made photo opportunity after the show, where actors will come out still in costume, and in character, to take photos with our valued guests.
Q. Do you have an age limit?
A. Due to the length of the evening, some children may find the event a little tiring. However, children over the age of 10 are generally old enough to enjoy the full performance, and are very welcome to attend! There is a discounted child rate, and food suitable for children is provided. Parents, of course, know their children best, and will be best able to determine if the event is suitable for your child.
Q. Can we get a table for two?
A. The Impossible Dream Experience is banquet-style seating, and each table seats up to 8 people. All tables are the same size, so if you are in a group of two, you will find yourself seated with other guests. You never know, you might make new friends! However we'll always endeavour to do our best to accomodate such requests.
Q. My friends are booking separately – can we sit together?
A. The Impossible Dream team will absolutely try to accommodate this request. Just ensure to mention it at the time of booking.
Q. Can I sit at the front of the performance?
A. Our policy is to seat people on a first book, first seat basis. Your best chance to get a front row seat is to book as early as possible. However, don’t despair if you are not at the front – our stage is built in a way to ensure that all patrons get an excellent view of the show!
